The Giza Necropolis

The Giza Necropolis (Arabic: جيزة يسروبوليس‎) is an archaeological site on the Giza Plateau, on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. This complex of ancient monuments includes the three pyramid complexes known as the Great Pyramids, the massive sculpture known as the Great Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers’ village and an industrial complex.

The Church of the Nativity

The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem is one of the oldest continuously operating churches in the world. The structure is built over the cave that tradition marks as the birthplace of Jesus of Nazareth, and thus it is considered sacred by Christians.

The Dome of the Rock

The Dome of the Rock (Arabic: مسجد قبة الصخرة‎, translit.: Masjid Qubbat As-Sakhrah, Hebrew: כיפת הסלע‎, translit.: Kipat Hasela) is a shrine located on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem. The structure has been refurbished many times since its initial completion in 691 CE at the order of Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik.

Abu Simbel

The Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock temples in Abu Simbel (أبو سمبل in Arabic) in Nubia, southern Egypt. They are situated on the western bank of Lake Nasser, about 230 km southwest of Aswan (about 300 km by road).

The purpose of the Arab American Club of Knoxville is to advance the public interest through charitable, social, and educational activities that promote a better understanding of the Arabic culture and its members.

The Arab American Club of Knoxville is a social, charitable, and educational organization committed to enhancing our community.

Like most all of us who inhabit this region, we are immigrants or descendants of immigrants. We are a diverse membership that traces its evolution from the Arab World to Southern Appalachia. We are Egyptian, Iraqi, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian, Syrian heritage, and more. We are, for the most part, Christian and Muslims. Like many others who have come to be here, we have brought our traditions, been influenced, and have influenced. And like most people living in our area, it is great to be a Tennessee Vol!

The Arab American Club seeks to provide a bridge of our heritage to our members while advancing cultural understanding to our Knoxville community.
